From what I've read on this site from the experts, Midland DOES NOT PFD. So while I have the funds to pay the settlement offer, I was planning to use to pay off some items that have a better chance of being removed from my reports.
The offer states, "IF WE RECEIVE $165.52 BY 02/23/2013 WE WILL CONSIDER YOUR ACCOUNT PAID IN FULL."
It states later in the document that my credit report will be updated as "paid in full."
Any suggestions?
Thanks
I personally had no luck with Midland but, it could be because I have a big mouth. I've seen where others had PFDs successfully with them.
Maybe you could offer a bit more than what they asked for in a PFD. All they can say is no.
How old is the debt and when should it fall off?
It's about 3 years old....so I've got a few years before the thing drops......
I would try a PFD with an offer for a little more than what they want. I have seen successful PFDs with them.
I'll give it a try! I'm sending one to CPA on Monday certified mail. Might as well send one on to MCM too. Thanks for the advice!
