MIDLAND

I would like to thank everyone for all your helpful info. I'm going to be settling with Midland tomorrow and it would be greatly appreciated if anyone could provide snail mail addresses that I could use to send a relentless stream of GW requests to Midland. I will keep everyone posted on my progess. I don't expect this to be quick, cheap, or simple. Thanks again for any help you can provide.

Re: MIDLAND

I've been GWing them via e-mail for an account that I PIF moths ago, before I knew about PFD. At least 5 e-mails a day to different people in management -- one per person EVERY DAY for the past week. Today - I just received a response from the Senior VP "thanking me for my note & follow-up correspondence" (LOL!) and  that my request has been forwarded to her compliance department....we'll see, indeed!

Re: MIDLAND

What is the balance/how much are you settling for? I currently have a T-Mobile account with Midland for $1,073. I am NOT paying that much lol. Just curious what people are throwing out there and if I should be aggressive and decline a bad counter-offer from them.

Well, Idk about everyone else, but I settled a $350 acct for $223 (from GECRB/Old Navy) about 6 months ago -- before I knew about PFD and before I was into the forums. So now, I am just trying to get this stuff removed from my CR.

Re: MIDLAND

I make it a point not to pay over 50%, and I get so stubborn that I will just hand up on them if those are not the terms. This is my biggest collection though, and with a company people don't like. I just refuse to give Midland more than $500, and even $500 is a lot considering over $700 of that is "Early Termination Fees" which I had already paid the subsidy on the device so it's all bogus fluff money to begin with. I would love to settle for $300 lol.

Re: MIDLAND

LoL! That's how I handle my big baddies sphinx. Settle for 25-40% most of the time, but this one was my smallest, so I really didnt care how much I had to pay. I offered to PIF but the rep was actually pretty nice, in that he suggested a discount.

I wish I knew then what I knew now though. Ugh. Oh well! C'est la vie. I'm moving forward and GWing these ppl to the ground!
