Macy's....Please help!!!

Hi everyone. I have a Macy's account that was closed a few years ago by my choice. They first reported it delinquent in 1/2007 & it was charged off in 1/2009 & now it's on my CR as "Paid-Charge Off." EQ verified it as my account & I NEED it deleted/updated ASAP! #1 I'd love to open an account with them again someday #2 it's hurting my score. Any suggestions of what to do with this situation?

Update: Equifax verified this account & myfico score went from 591 to 572. I called Macy's & they only gave me an address of where I can mail a dispute. I emailed Macy's customer service in hopes of them accepting my GW request.

Suggestion: why don't you use the same mailing address from your CR but add: ATTN: Credit Bureau Reporting.

Hi,

I had some small success with Macy's by calling the "backdoor" number listed in the Credit Card forum (800-627-2909). I'm sorry I don't remember the name of the Analyst I spoke with.

YMMV, though, as mine was (and is) an open account with a late payment I was trying to get removed. They were great though - there were 3 late pmts; they said they could only remove the most recent as a courtesy - lo and behold when I later checked my reports, all 3 were gone!

Crazy8s I think the problem is that my account is closed. That phone # is the 1 that I called & they gave me the address for Macy's Recovery dept. I'm glad you were able to have those lates removed. I'm feeling discouraged already *sighhh* They don't want to budge!

I had Macy's remove two late payments off my account.

I called the 800# about 15 times, until I got someone who removed them.
