Medical Collection - What To do? Got an offer.

I have a medical bill for $614 from the hospital.

They offered me the following

The best we can offer you for a settlement in full is 40% off,  you would have to pay $368.40 however, for this discount we would report this paid in full to all 3 major credit bureaus within 30 days of your funds clearing our bank.

If you prefer this to be withdrawn/deleted from all 3 major CBR reporting agencies you will have to pay the entire balance of $614.00, and again we would have to wait till your funds cleared our  bank to update our records with the credit bureaus

Trying to decide what I should do.

Deletion is always the best option. You want this completely gone from your credit. Just make sure they put the deletion agreement in writing before you pay them.

Definitely go for the deletion! It is the best option.

As others have said, deletion is the way to go. I had the same thing when I was doing my PFDs... Settlement offer, or PIF to delete. The only way that I would do the settlement was if this was going to drop off your reports soon anyway. That way the debt is settled, and you only have to live with the negative for a short while. If that's not the case, PFD for sure.

Take the deletion and RUN. Those are hard enough to get as it is.

That's what I was thinking.

Were the options listed above presented via mail or a phone conversation?

Good job on getting them to agree to the deletion though!

I'm sure you know which to decide on doing.

Yes Sir'

Pay it in Full, I think about it this way , I got the debt (whatever it was) so this  rebuilding process teaches me that I should be responsible enough to pay it even if it hurts my pocket. The deletion is then a Bonus!!
