My question is, how long does this usually take to update?  And being that the account first started reporting in 2012 and was for $2000, how much of a score jump should I expect?

Updates normal can take up to 30 days. However, a mortgage company can do a rapid update within 48 hours ... if you have a friend who is a loan officer. When I owned my mortgage brokerage company, I did that for folks to help them knowing that they may come back for a mortgage in the future.
