I have a couple questions about medical debt. Right now I owe between 7000-8000k in medical debt. About 5000k of this is with CA, the rest is with the hospital and doctors office. The payments for all of these is really weighing us down and I'm thinking of taking out a loan with my Credit Union to pay this off. My questions 1) Should I try and settle with a smaller amount? 2) What will settling do to my credit? 3) What will having these show as "paid" do to my credit? 4) Should I pay the CA at all or send the payment to the hospital?
