Thanks Katie!
Deltadog03 - yes, it was about 4 days when i got the alert that a new account opened. seemed pretty fast, so i gues i'll just have to wait and see if they report payments fast too!
Daisy - they told you there is a 48 AF? I'll have to check when I get my card, because the invitation letter I read all of it and it said $0 AF, $0 setup fee, etc.
I received a preapproval for $750, but the card has a $65 annual fee. I have never had a late payment and it will be a year in August. I am still at the original $750 limit. I am looking into getting a card with NFCU and telling Merrick to hit the trail, because their interest rate is not worth the annual fee.
Has anyone else had a similar experience?
I just got, and activated my Merrick Bank Card today. I signed up for paperless billing and my TU08 Bancard FICO is 629. Not bad.....Still has not reported as a new account yet on my CR
Yeah. It states that there is a $48.00 AF and then I will be billed $4.00 per month thereafter. I was aware of this before applying, but again I felt it was worth it for the credit limit they gave me.
Daisy, thats not to bad. Have you got your card yet? or has it shown up on your CR yet?
No, not yet. I should receive it any day now. It's not reporting yet and funny thing is that it's not showing up as an inquiry yet either, but I asked them what credit report they pull and they said TU.
I just got a preapproval for the 35yr fee 700 limit w/x7 to 1400 but got a review. In my experience this means a denial. Sometimes they dont want you to get upset for wasting 15-30 min filling out forms so they let you down easier in a letter a few weeks later. Something like too many accounts, too high balances, too much revolving credit, not enough history, etc. Doesnt take into account 0 missed payments, 0 late payments, etc. Anyways, just thought Id clear that up for you, even though its been a year since this thread started lol.
Merrick Bank is great to work with and there Credit Department is as well in my experience.
