I wouldn't have an actual legitimate reason for the dispute. It's just that in one month the account will be paid, and having satisfied the debt, I was hoping to have the CA collection account deleted. I only know of two ways of doing this:
(1) A GW letter
(2) a CRA dispute that would hopefully not get responded to by the CRA.
And now, after reading this post, I have learned of a third way, (3) a BBB Dispute.
Does this sound accurate, or is there something I'm not seeing?
You should only dispute information you truly believe to be incorrect.
Here is an excerpt from the forum's Credit Repair Discussion Guidelines :
The only credit repair discussions allowed in FICO Forums are ones that exchange information on how to correct or remove real errors from your credit report – not accurate information that you want to get rid of because it may be negatively affecting your credit score.
Got it. Thanks for the information.
your better off just sending gw letters after you satisfy the debt. if in fact they are inaccurately reporting the status after payment and wont do anything about it then yes you can take the steps mentioned ONLY if there is inaccurate reporting. I highly dont reccomend disputes and filing complaints just for the sake of hope they wont respond and delete the account
