Woke uptoday and seen Midland was deleted off my Experian. Gained 33 points. This means tommarow Equifax should updte, and who knows with Transunion their unpredictable.
Why was it deleted?
Was it excluded by the CRA based upon it reaching its credit report exclusion date, or was it voluntarily deleted by the debt collector?
A common reason for deletion by a debt collector is if the debt remains unpaid and their collection authority is either terminated or they owned and have sold the debt.
A new debt collector could obtain collection authority and report.
Is the debt paid or unpaid?
It was deleted because I paid it, and it was older then 2 years old of dofd, per their credit reporting policy.
I PIF. It went to an attorney and I couldn't get a low settlement and didn't want to go through the hassle reviewing my income, I wanted it out of the way. Apparently I had good timing when to take care of this, they claim there was a server going to serve me soon and I had to pay a 50 dollar court fee. To this day I still have not been served or was even mailed a copy of the paperwork I paid for. I Think court fees is a misleading term they used because it was never filed with the court. (In in MN which allows pocket dockets)
It took 2 reporting periods of Midland to remove it. About 3 weeks total. During this time I seen odd TL changes to this account.
How did you pay them Debit Card Credit Card?
When ever I delt with paying settlements and collections I always used a money order. They are 29 cents at wallyworld and I maled it certified with a letter requesting an immediate reporting.
Why I use a money order is, your not giving a collection company your checking account number or card number.
The money order is consided secured funds.
I never sign the money order, nor do I sign any letters I mail out. This is just as bad as giving out your account numbers.
I also paid off my two Midland collections and they were also deleted as said... I recieved letters verifying their promise to delete also...
Hi. Did you pay in full before it aged 2 years or after? Mine will turn 2 years at the end of this month. Trying to figure out if I should pay now or wait til after the 2 year mark in order to get mine removed. Thanks for your advise!
The two I paid were over two years but I got the letters and the removals..
