Midland Question

I have three "small" collections with midland.  I know midland won't PFD so I'm not going to waste my time.  These are UNPAID at the moment.

I believe from reading around here that paid is more favorable to my FICO 8 than unpaid.  Is PIF better than settled for lower amount?

Each is around $600-- and I am within SOL on all so I don't want to poke the bear too much, but they are sending settlement offers to me.

I can afford to pay them off in full, but if settling them will do the same for my credit as a PIF I'd rather do that.

Thanks in Advance from the credit rebuilding newbie.

Re: Midland Question

No difference in PIF or settled. Closed is closed. The only difference will be on a manual review if a lender sees it settled for less. With that being said I have 4 CO's that I settled for less than the full amount. It hasn't stopped me from obtaining credit.
