Midland disappeared off my report...

A negative account I have with Midland has disappeared off my Equifax account.

It is still on Experian as "debt purchase" and Transunion as "collection".

I was considering a PFD, as the account is 2.5 years from falling off all three reports.

But - I haven't done anything yet.

My question - is something worse (charge off?) about to happen or should I just consider myself lucky and move forward with a PFD?

Thanks!!

Re: Midland disappeared off my report...

Often an indication that the debt collector either has sold the debt, or their collection authority has been terminated.

It could be followed by reporting of a new debt collector.

Who now owns the debt?

I would first give them a call, and ask if they are still involved with collection on the debt.  If so, I see no reason not to send them a PFD with respect to their continued reporting to EX.
