Midland settlement offer

Because I need to pay off collections before closing, I took Midland's settlement offer of 60% off the balance. After paying 40%, the account would be considered paid in full. I paid the 40% and logged in after a few days to make sure I didn't have a balance. But there is a balance. And it's the remaining 60%. I paid Friday and logged in today. Do I need to complain now or give them more time? Does anyone have a good email address or fax number for them? Did I just screw myself?

Goals: Homeowner as of 9/27/2013. Last app 8/1/15. TU-5; EX-16; EQ-13. Aiming for ZERO inqs.

Re: Midland settlement offer

What were you offered 60 or 40%?

I would contact them and make sure they intend to honor your mutual agreement before it gets any further.

Re: Midland settlement offer

I was offered 60% off. So my balance now is the full balance minus what I paid, which was 40% of the total.

Midland won't speak to me by phone. That's why I want an email address.

Re: Midland settlement offer

Just an update:

I tried to log into my Midland account. It no longer exists! Now let's see how they update on my credit report.

I would still like contact info if anyone has it. Smiley Happy
