I don't post much but I do a lot of reading here and have a question maybe someone can help me on.
Me and my significant other have decided to buy a house in the next year or two so I enrolled myself in the USAA credit monitoring service. Sadly, the report returned two negative accounts. One of them was a 30 days late payment on a car loan back in 2008 and the other is the Milstar account. The Milstar CC is being reported as "payment after charge off", "account transfered to another office" and "bad debt and placed for collection & skip" with the 3 credit reporting agencies. I paid off the amount owed back in 2009 after receiving letters in the mail.
My question pertains to the Milstar account and how in your opinion would be the best way to remove this from my CR. Also, has anyone out there had any success dealing with Milstar in doing such a thing?
