Missed payment 2/2013

Hi everybody,

I stupidly missed a payment on a Citibank Sears card for $60.  It bought my FICO score down 70 points for that one missed payment out of 100's of on-time payments over the last decade!   Does anyone think I could GW Citibank to remove that late payment?  And how would I go about it?

Thanks so much for any feedback.

If it happened that long ago, I don't think they can remove it.

Subject suggest that this was a few months ago.  Anyway, I had success with getting lates removed by GW e-mail Citi CEO about a year ago (just google "Citibank CEO e-mail").  However, it was not a store branded card.

Re: Missed payment 2/2013

OP: It definitely wouldn't hurt to write a GW letter and plead your case. Mention your past on time payment history, PIF, etc. Basically anything beneficial about your credit history, especially with Citi.

It's a 50/50 chance though. They may remove it or they may tell you that they have to report accurate information to the bureaus regarding your account. I think it's worth a shot.

Sorry, I was incorrect.  It was Chase and BoA I was successful with, I didn't have any lates with Citi.   Cap One, after tyring several times, I gave up.  (for DW)
