My divorce lawyer bill each month is KILLING me..

I owe about 8-9k for my divorce lawyer and all through the divorce I have been having $500 per month autodeducted from my bank account.  Needless to say that is about 1.5 weeks of work for me and that amount is KILLING me.. I asked her two times before if payments could be lowered or skippped and she or her assistant basically told me no. I dont know how much longer I can go on with this bill...

Any suggestions, of letters or what to say to her to get her to understand this bill is killing me and it needs to be lowered?

Per your other thread..... Possible words "Im going to have to file BK over all of this" This would open your lawyers eyes since that would include her bill as well.

She KNOWS Im filing. From what I understood I could not file against her.. hmmm...now Im wondering.

Why do BK lawyers not do anything for you until they are completely paid????   Their bill would be included in the BK, all debts must be included and that includes debts owed to a lawyer. If you file on her she will dump you unless you sign a reaffirmation agreement, that is a fact so take that into consideration... That debt is fully dischargeable in a BK-7

ACtually my final hearing for the divoce is April 1st... and BK is not filed... yet...

I REALLY honestly thought I could not discharge this.. I feel SLIGHTLY bad because she has been a good lawyer.. but she has known all along I plan to file BK.. I wonder if thats why she has kept my payments so high..

what to do...

maybe it will piss her off.. but I think I JUST might try and discharge.. do you think she would come to the creditors meeting?  ack..
