My first week rebuilding credit

Has brought a lot of changes and a lot of new knowledge.  I currently don't have a credit score, everything good and bad has fallen off my credit report with the exception of one Auto Loan for a car I bought 15 years ago that was paid off on time.  Since I got myself into all kinds of trouble in my early twenties I just didn't use credit for anything the next ten years.  Apparently this is a bigger problem than having a bad history.  I couldn't get anything for quite a while and was preparing myself to go the secured route to restart when I found this forum.  I then rethought my original position and applied for Cap1, receiving a Plat. MC.  Then after reading here I went back and applied for a QS1, only four hours later but a different calendar day so it was a second HP.  Tried to get a Synchrony store card a couple different places and was denied for not having a score.  Then my vehicle broke down, got it fixed and it broke down again.  So I ended up purchasing a different vehicle with a loan my CU told me I never would have gotten if I hadn't been a member there for over a year with a not horrible average daily balance.  All in all in the one week I've been here I've gotten two new CC's and an auto loan.  Next is to wait until I have a score then Re-app for Synchrony, and possibly discover.  End goal is to have four or five cards, one of each type and maybe one store card.  I'm dreaming of the day I can have an AMEX in my wallet.

Re: My first week rebuilding credit

So you still don't have a score with the car loan and CAP1 cards? Smiley Wink

Re: My first week rebuilding credit

Cap one still hasn't reported the new accounts, which I can't really blame them, I don't even have the cards yet.  And the Auto Loan hasn't hit the report yet now according to CK I'm at 649 TU and according to their simulator I'll go up to 715 with the new Cap1 cards.  But we know how accurate those are.  CCT won't update for 4 more days.

Re: My first week rebuilding credit

Now that makes more sense. CAP1 will report a few days after the first statement cuts. If it makes you feel better, the EQ FAKO CK score is 100+ points lower than my EQ FICO8 score. Smiley Happy

Re: My first week rebuilding credit

Received the two Cap1 cards today and according to their Credit Tracker FAKO I'm at a 670.  I would really like to know what the real FICO is.
