My mom added me as an authorized user but it only asked for my name???

My mom just added me as an authorized user on her Discover card with $13K credit limit and no balance.  She said all they asked for was my name so how will it know me and add it into my CR without any other identifying info?

They know your mom's home address. If you live at the same address they will be able to identify you.

We have different addresses and different last names

In that case, I suspect they may not report the account to the consumer reporting agencies in which case the account will not show up on your credit report.

I added my partner to my Wal-Mart card all they wanted was his name......sure enough 2 months later it showed up on his CR. They have ways of knowing I'm sure your mom gave enough info. If it Dosent show up ask your mom to call them and ask them to report it. If they won't try another of her cards

They dont need  anything other than your name and DOB. They can locate you that way based on previous addresses associated with your mom. My brother just called and ADDED me to his AMEX card a few weeks ago, it still hasnt shown but AMEX takes a while to show up for AUTH user.

Amex also requires a SSN for an ACM to be added.
