Re: MyFico quarterly monitoring TU score vs Credit karma

It depends what's on your report. Some the 98 is better but some the 04 is better. Ymmv.

The older 98 counts some things different then the 04. Same for the newer 08 but most use the 04 model.
I think there is a thread in the fico scoring forum section that gets into detail.

Indiolatino61 I think your wrong..myfico uses tu98 and eq beacon 5.0
Walmart uses tu08
Most mortgage lenders use tu04 eq beacon5.0 and ex 04 version 2

Ok...I stand corrected, thanks. However, since that is the case, myFICO's TU98 would be as useless as Walmart's TU08, at least for mortgage hunters, correct?

correct.

A couple of interesting purported changes in Fico 08

- Less weight given to authorized user accounts.  Piggybacking on other's accounts as AU will not be as beneficial.

- Single serious deliquency (90+ late) will not hurt as much if you have many other account with clean payment history.

Unfortunately, you are comparing two score that don't matter.  TU Score in myFICO is rarely used by lenders and FAKO from CK is never used by the lenders.

Re: MyFico quarterly monitoring TU score vs Credit karma

The way I see it and it IMHO TU04 is what is used and the rest are Fako's
Myfico sells you a fico score that no one uses so to me it's a fako. the (TU98.)
Maybe the Walmart fico might have a use at some point TU08 but for now it's like a fako. I will say this again why on earth is myfico selling an old outdated TU fico score???
The EQ score is the beacon 5 and is used by most lenders. So that's not a fako.
The EX they don't sell anymore and only way to get it is from a CU in pa or a mortgage or lender pull.
so the only fico you can buy is the EQ score the rest are Fako's IMHO .
