NATIONAL CREDIT SYSTEMS - Collection - Amount Owed $0.00

I had an apartment complex submit me to National Credit Systems for $378.00. I paid the apartment complex in full, however I must have been late paying them and they turned me over to a collection agency. The last report date for this is 9/2013. Should I try to have this removed from my credit report? If so what is the best way to do that? Any help is appreciated.

Paying the debt is not basis for requiring the debt collector to delete their reported collection.

CRA policy instructs furnishers not to delete reporting based on payment of the debt.

The proper procedure is to contact the debt collector and request that they grant you a good-will deletion of their reporting.
