Dealt with them on AAFES debt, and they were pretty rude and wouldn't budge. But it was different because AAFES debt is federal, so like student loans, no SOL and they can garnish wages/tax returns without a judgement (which they did to me) ... but once I paid them, they removed the collections immediately (although AAFES still reports as paid charge off/transfer derog) ...
so that might give you some hope that they don't stick to their guns on the 7 year collection reporting...

Has anyone had success doing a PFD with NCO financial or GW after PIF?? they just reported an account from directv from 2009 for like $200. I just want it off my CR. Any help or advice is greatly appreciated
Had an account with them. Sent a DV, they sent a letter stating they would remove, and then sent "validation". I plan on paying it before it gets reinserted. Pretty easy to deal with, actually.

I called twice to ask for PFD for around $250 and got hung up on both times. Very rude,

Usually putting the request in writing yields better results.

injustifiable,
Perhaps, but if I were to start writing letters then it'd be the HIPPA one to the OC.

I actually had 3 collections from NCO on my CR's. One of those was Directv. I disputed them with the credit bureaus and within three days they were all deleted. Negotiating a PFD with them is pointless, since they don't own the debt. I would try a DV first, but if that fails, go with the dispute. Good Luck!
