NVLV

These guys are top notch... Got a call from NVLV stating that I had a debt. Even though I sent a validation letter they kept on calling; they never responded to the letter by the way They then posted to the CRA's. I called to negotiate a settlement which they eventually took and per our agreement sent me a Settled in Full letter. The next time my CR updated I noticed that NVLV only reported the original balance less the payment I made. The TL is still reported as open and past due with an outstanding balance. I faxed the Settlement Letter to the CRA's today after disputing the TL and speaking to a  customer rep.  EXP and TU said they would take care of it from their end, but EQ said that even after they received the letter that they would need verification from NVLV. So basically they will disregard a Paid in Full letter from the CA until that same CA (who is not responding to them) verifies the TL. Is this typical of NVLV? I know these guys are hard to deal with and wont PFD, but if they are purposely reporting false information can I get the TL removed based on fraudulent reporting?

Re: NVLV

I think you may mean LVNV?

They are one of the worst to deal with.  Not keeping promises, reporting incorrectly, etc.

For willfull noncompliance, a law suit would be in order.

You can file formal complaints with the FTC and the CFPB.  Many have had luck with BBB complaints also.

Re: NVLV

Yes, LVNV. Thanks for that. Shows what a trying day I have had with these people.
