Navy Federal Rocks!!!

I've been lurking around myFICO forum for quite some time now but I never joined. Due to the success I've had so far rebuilding my credit and my recent approvals, I had to post this message. When I purchased my car 2 years ago, my fico score was 480. As of yesterday it was 635. It's not where i want it to be but its improving. I started out with a $500 secured card from NFCU, $300 first Premier, $500 Merrick (now $1000), $500 Capital One (now $750), $200 Belk,  $500 BOA (partially secured), $180 Paypal and $1300 Lane Bryant. Paypal and Lane bryant are my oldest cards. After reading some of the post on Tuesday, I decided to apply for NFCU cash rewards card. Wednesday morning I received a message that I was approved for $6000. I alomost fell out of my chair. Yesterday I decided to apply for the checking line of credit (NavChek). I decided to apply for $10,000 instead of the $15,000 recommended by many of the members. Well, this moring I got another message that I was approved for the $10,000. I couldn't believe it. I applied for both accounts sometime last year but was declined. To those that are rebuilding, be patient ther is a light at the end of the tunnel. THANK YOU all so much for the advice, esp about NFCU.

Re: Navy Federal Rocks!!!

I couldnt agree more!!! In March, after about 3 years of painstaking/ rebuilding, I went to Ford.com and decided to apply for a car loan. WIthin 5 minutes..DENIED! I called NFCU (savings only small deposits/balance for 4+ years) spoke to a VERY nice lady explaining my rebuild story, etc and she took my info, and bam! 30,000 car loan on the spot...with a 2.4% rate. You wouldve thought I won the lottery! I had been driving a KIA Soul for 3 years and only 2 times late. I purchased my 2014 convertible mustang 3.16. my 45th birthday! Driving in style, first sports car and will go to NFCU for all my needs and I can pretty much bet if I pay on time, my next loan is a mortgage, and I hope to apply within a year! I am forever grateful and a loyal member for life!!!
