The account shows 120+ days past due from Dec 2006- Jan 2008. Then shows as Closed from Feb 2008-April 2008. Then shows 30 days May 2008. Then oct 2008 CO.
I remeber paying the credit card company during 2008. So my question is, what is my DOFD. On all credit reports DOFD shows as oct 2008. Since i made payments to the credit card compnay for couple months in 2008, does my account become current even after they have closed the account?
The DoFD is set when the account went into arrears and was not brought current. I personally believe your DoFD is listed incorrectly. It should not start when this was paid, it should have started in 2006. I would file a direct dispute.
Thank you for the quick reply. I am planning to dispute DOFD with all CRA. I just wanted to make sure I understand DOFD before disputing it.

I'm not sure that disputing with the CRAs would be the correct way to go. I believe a direct dispute would be more appropriate.
+1 Filing a dispute through the CRA's would only involve them using e-oscar system. 95% of the time it will come back verified. A Direct Dispute to the OC will not cause a dispute flag on your credit file. The OC has options to make any changes neccessary to report their TL accurately.

I will go ahead and do that. Should I call them or write them a dispute letter? I will do more research on the forum and find a letter to send them.
Try this.

Thank you very much. You have been great help. I will go ahead and try the letter.
I Direct Disputed with the OC about month and half ago and have not heard anything back from them. What should i do next?
I also disputed with CRA's. Somehow Transunion totally removed it from my credit report. Transunion removed the collection agency, but DoFD remained the same. Other CRA didn't removed it.
I disputed with Equifax and Experian from their website, but i disputed Transunion via regular mail. Since Transunion removed it and other two didn't, do you think how you dispute matters?

I would file a complaint with the CFPB. The OC has to respond to the Direct Dispute under the FCRA.
