Need help....

Ive been on the boards here since my BK discharge 6 months ago.  My rebuild has gone great, the information Ive gained here has been priceless!

So I have a new challenge... my fiance's credit.

We started dating again, after a 7 year break up due to my job relocating but 18 months ago I moved back and on christmas we got engaged!

She lost her decent paying job and unfortunatly over estimated the job market.  After taking the summer of 2014 off to collect unemployment and relax, when she got serious about rejoining the workforce the job offers have been mediocre at best.  Almost 2 years later she is still looking for a job earning what she did before.  Exactly a year ago she stopped paying on her cards, medical bills etc.  The totals are about 12k in cards and 3k in medical.  I know this may not seem like a ton, but where we live, you dont need to earn a ton of money to live a decent life.  She was earning 35k before and now shes at 15k.  I have taken a serious reduction in pay as well... but my BK was an easy choice, 60k in unsecured debt, 140k in medical.  No brainer.  But for her, it seems silly to file for 15k, even though her income is so little it seems like it will take forver and a day to get it paid off.

Heres my question...

Do we get in touch with one of the debt specialists to help her out?  If so, who do you recommend?

or

Do we call each debt holder and try to work out payments?  (this one scares me because Im afraid if each one says ok to 25 or 50 a month, shes looking at a monthly payment of 200-300 which would be very hard to afford for her.

My job has a big promise of some serious income potential, but it will take 3-6 months of learning the ins and outs and building more of a client base.  Once that happens Ill be able to help hopefully, but Id like to see her handle this on her own (mostly because she racked up the debt before we got back together while dating some unemployed loser who had no problem letting her charge up a storm)

Any help or suggestions guys?  Thanks!

With 15k of debt, and only 15k of income, I would file ch 7 and not think twice. Its going to take years just to get the debt paid down to a reasonable level, not to mention recovering her credit. OTOH, filing discharges the debt and allows her to recover her credit to a reasonable level (700) in two years.
