I have a Verizon account on my credit report for $1500 from May 2015. I closed the account and moved to another home. I did not know their was a balance on the account when I closed it.
These have been my steps so far:
1. I've disputed the account. TU deleted it and EX and EQ updated my reports.
2. Contacted Verizon 1 rep said there is no account, another rep said they have to mail the statement to me (no email)
Should I try the 623 letter to the OC? If I do owe for at least the last month (I know I don't owe 1500!) Should I send a PFD? Once I receive the statement and get it corrected?
My Fico 8 scores are currently: EQ 683/TU 708/EX 703.
This is what my credit report says:
Account Status: Closed
Payment Status: Late
Payment Status: Details Seriously past due date / assigned to attorney, collection agency, or credit grantor's internal collection department
Status Updated: 11/01/2015
Please advise on what I should do? Thanks for any help.
