Negative Acct Removal

I had Verizon on all 3 of my CR.    The account was just sold and at the same time the Verizon trade line fell off Expeiran and Transunion but not Equifax.    What is the best way to have the Equifax removed since Verizon did this on their own ?

Re: Negative Acct Removal

Credit reporting is voluntary.

They can choose at any time to report to only one or two CRAs, or to all three.

Similarly, they can choose to delete prior reporting with one or more CRAs at any time.  They might do so in order to simplify their updating.

Deletion with one CRA is not basis for requiring deletion from others unless the deletion was done based on a finding in a dispute that the debt could not be verified.

In such instances, the creditor is requried to notify all CRAs of that finding, and not simply the CRA handling the dispute.

You can always contact the creditor and request their voluntary (good-will) deletion.

There is no provision under the FCRA for requiring that they do so.
