Hello All!!

I have a quick question regarding student loans. I was originally with Nelnet, however my loans were purchased by Fedloan Servicing since I qualified for the loan forgiveness. Nelnet continues to report the accout on my credit as "Account transferred or sold Student loan."

Is there a course of action that I can take to get these accounts removed? I just wanted them removed because it lists about 6 accounts with the same status. The status is "pays account as agreed."

I don't personally have student loans but this sounds like they are reporting correctly. I'm sure someone with more experience will jump in. Just because a loan was sold to another company doesn't mean it gets removed from reports.

do the old loans show a balance?

They do not. They reflect a zero balance, which is accurate. It is just listed under negative accounts when I review my information in myfico. I don't know if they are negatively affecting my report or not.

That is common practice for rehabbed federal student loans.
