Greetings Fellow Members,

I'm a newbie and have much to learn, in regards to maintaining a healthy balance between money and credit worthiness. Thus, I have lots of reading to do as I'm unsure of how this Fico scoring works!  If my signature appears below, it's the current status of my credit score. I hope to join the Fitness Challenge in January of 2014!  I should be ready for the fitness challenge, as I'll spend this time learning, learning and learning.

If you have any suggestions for this newbie, please let me know!  Smiley Very Happy

Best-

tippy

Re: New Member

Welcome to the forums.

The best advice I can give you is to get your free reports from annualcreditreport.com.  They are the most accurate and detailed.

And to read as much as you can on this site.  Any questions, feel free to ask.

Re: New Member

Welcome! After seeing whats on your credit report search on the rebuilding search bar ask questions. Search for PFD letters too get collections removed GW letterd for charge off or paid collections. Applying for a secured card while rebuilding is a great idea. Cap 1 is my first secured card approval.

Re: New Member

I have a few charge offs. :-(   Confused.  Should I pay those off or not?

Re: New Member

Here's a similar thread about paying charge offs. It's always good to pay than send GW letters ( examples you have find in the search bar).

http://ficoforums.myfico.com/t5/Rebuilding-Your-Credit/CAP-ONE-CHARGE-OFF-PAY-OR-NOT-PAY-PHOTO-ATTAC...

Collections you want too PFD those sent a letter too see if they will settle for less or payment in full can also be searched on the search bar.

Those late payments I would send GW letters as well.

We really need to know who is reporting on these debts.  If it is a CA, when was the last time they updated?  You don't want to do anything that will further damage your score.
