I would suggest opening an account with either SDFCU, DCU, or PenFed CU. Get a Pre-Aproval from them as I believe they simply use your FICO 08 rather than the Auto-enhanced score. Call them to verify this as I am not certain. I know that PenFed told me they will use the same pull for an auto refi loan as they use for opening the account.

Just to clarify - any derogs on the account will drop after they reach 7 years of age - that includes late payments and even a charge off. After that point it may continue to report as a positive account for up to ten years after closure.

DCU uses EQ04 score, comparable to the EQ05 here on MyFICO.
