Re: New collection

The CRAs have implemented a new policy regarding medical collections, as set forth in their National Consumer Assistance Plan, wherein they do not include any reported collection in your credit report until at least 180 days have passed since the delinquency on the debt.  Thus, if a debt collector has reported their collection, it will be excluded by the CRA until 180 days from delinquency.

Additionally, even if a medical collection does become included in your credit report, the CRA will remove it if it is later paid via insurance, without any involvement or approval of the debt collector.
