Northland group / cap one settlement offer

Have a cap one charge off I'm trying to settle. NGI is collecting and Capone owns the debt but says I have to go through NGI. NGI is not reporting.

Debt is $3351, and I worked them down to 55% which is $1843 to settle. balance will be $0 after that. Good deal?

Re: Northland group / cap one settlement offer

Have a capitalone charge off still reporting. I was offered a settlement offer with Northland( Balance 665.00  settle for 399.00).  Is this a good deal? I would prefer for it to be deleted but Capital One still owns account. Thanks for any input.  kathol39

Re: Northland group / cap one settlement offer

I decided to pay the full amount to increase the chances of getting a delete. Next week, I'm sending a check for the remainder (about $2200), and a letter to the exec office describing my situation and requesting the delete.

Re: Northland group / cap one settlement offer

UPDATE:

Wrote a letter explaining my situation and asking for a delete for full payment. I attached a check for the full amount owed of $2216. Had a few phone convos with an exec office rep and she was "doing everything she could" to get it deleted. Finally she called back and said she was unable to get it deleted, but offered to send a letter saying it was paid in full.

Today my balance reported as $0 and this jumped my EQ to 667, which was about 40 points. Silver lining.

Still have a little hope that they will delete. I read several comments of people saying they were denied a delete, only to have it deleted a few weeks later. Anyone have experience with that? Thanks!
