Old Debt in Collections

I have an old debt with Time Warner that sits with CMI now from 2004 for $173. It's the only thing that I have listed in collections debt. If I pay it, does my score increase maybe? Just curious of what anyone else thinks.

Re: Old Debt in Collections

If you have any collection in your CR, the first thing to look at is NOT the collection account, it is the OC account that led up to the collection.

What was your history with the OC?

Just liist first each monthly delinquency you had on the OC account.  It all then flows from there.

If you pay a collection with a CA, no, it will not improve your score in any way.  Try sending them a PFD.
