Below is the baddie that has haunted me for almost 7 years. The last payment date was 8/31/2009. It wasn't charged off, but was transferred to AES/Suntrust.
Since the last payment date will be 7 years end of next month, will I be able to request removal? Or will I have to wait until 9/2017 when the last late payment notation falls off?
Any and all information/recommendations will be appreciated!!!

Is it a federal student loan?
yes, it was a federal loan thru sallie mae. After default it was sold to AES Suntrust.
Federal student loans are not subject to the normal credit report exclusion periods under the FCRA.
The Higher Education Act specifically permits their continued reporting as long as they remain delinquent.
I would recommend looking into the rehab programs for federal student loans, which require, if completed, deletion of credit reporting derogs.
Otherwise, they can continue reporting.

It looks like this tradeline has been satisfied though, it shows a balance of $0 and "current/paid" in the status.
