I called yesteday regarding a good will adjustment and I was told to fax a letter asking them to remove the delinquency from back in 2010. Well guess what? I received an alert that I have a dann inquiry from Wells Fargo on my reprt!!?!??! I have zero inquiries and I am beyond angry. I request a good will and you give me a hard inquiry on my report? With what authority?

Ugh, WF is HP happy! Same thing happened to me when I added a second checking account after being with them for 4 years. They specifically said "we do not need to run your credit",but the next day BOOM credit alert for a HP. I was beyond pissed

I called every single department and no one was able to get me to the credit dispute department. They supposedly only have a fax # and no phone number. It's ridiculous!! I just sent them a note regarding the hard inquiry on my file and I asked that they remove it. I would understand if my account was open but gosh it was been closed since 2010 with a zero balance. It is due to fall off on May 2016 but I wanted to try to get it removed or updated as positive sooner.

I had a similar issue getting to the dispute department at PNC. I kept being sent to Fraud and no one knew what the heck I was talking about.

Keep in mind I used to WORK at National City (which was purchased by PNC) so it's not like I didn't know how to ask.

If you have no current business with WF they have no PP to run a hard inquiry, I would write a letter to the office of the CEO demanding that it be removed but I will caution you it may affect your ability to get the GW adjustment so I might hold off on the inquiry and finish the GW attempt first.

Filing a complaint with the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau might light a fire under their butts to have it removed also.
