One account being reported twice

I've decided to pay off my HSBC account for a balance of 572.  This account was referred to Portfolio recovery.   HSBC is reporting a zero balance.  Portfolio is reporting the 572 balance.  How do I get HSBC to stop reporting this account to CRA since they have referred it to collections.

Re: One account being reported twice

Wouldn't you rather have HSBC report a 0 balance and get HSBC to get portfolio to stop and remove collections on your report?

Re: One account being reported twice

It is very common for a charged off debt to be reported by both the original creditor and also the collection agency. You'll have to work with them separately to GW the negative reporting.
