So back in May, I decided I really needed to figure out this whole credit thing, because I was sick of driving a crappy car. Well today I was approved for an auto loan through DCU, who informed me over the phone that my EQ FICO was 660. I'm going to the dealership on Saturday, and hoping to leave with a new to me Audi S4 (i.e. Used). Obviously this could not have been done if I never found this website. Literally none of it. There's no chance I would have had the motivation to improve my score as rapidly as I did, there's no way I would have found the strategies needed to do it, there's no way I would even know what DCU was if it wasn't for this forum, and I've been to a concert in the DCU Center!!
In addition to the DCU membership and auto loan (5.49% by the way, details in the Auto Loan section) I was also preapproved for the DCU Visa, at $2k limit (Not amazingly high considering NFCU initial CL, but still). This is now my first card that's not a rebuilder, and one that should grow to pretty big limits in the future.
So basically,
Really lookin' forward to the weekend, you guys.

Big Congrats that's wonderful
That is a whopper of a success! You did your work and it paid off...Congrats!!
Congratulations! I hope to be able to get a car loan soon as well!
Nice job Jutz! You're doing a great job!
Congrats Jutz! I need to look into DCU myself and start building a relationship there.
Congrats!! Great job!
Congrats
Thanks all. Considering apping for a Green Card before I hit the garden for another 6 months or so. I need a better system for gas and travel expenses because I get reimbursed, but I really am not organized about it.
I'm going to wait for the new DCU accounts to show up (Maybe not the auto, since I may not even close on it this weekend) as well as the two inquiries to hit EQ. I'm pretty sure AMEX won't hit EQ anyway.
