I was waiting for my QS1 to report to EX and one of the collections came off and still I just had a 6 point jump on my EX (FICO). Not completely disappointed, but I sure was hoping to get a bigger boost. Just reminds me of performance reviews at work! Ugh... It is never enough! Although, I reduced my collections from 4 to 1, util from 94% to 8%, added a new account and went through a major lifestyle transformation! All for a measly 6 point jump?? Lol!
But I did manage to come up from 530 last year to 627 almost a 100 point jump! I'm hoping to get another boost when my inquiries fall off this May! And have never missed a payment since Mar last year! I'm just waiting for my accounts to age (like that fine scotch..) and then I'm gonna cash in on them! 
I'm desperately waiting for an AMEX in my wallet. My current EX score is 627 and in about 5 months I want it to be up to 690-700 range. So I can apply for the AMEX EDP or AMEX Delta Skymiles. I also want in with Chase, I've never had a Chase card in the past and I want one! Reminds me of Catch me if you can! 
But to fellow builders like me, don't lose hope! As of last December I couldn't get approved for a secured card, but today I have about $4,000 in CL. Banks are like Casinos: They will let you win as long as you keep making the right bets! And remember, the house always wins!

You can probably get it (Chase), I was just approved for one..look at my scores. They double pulled EQ and TU tho...
I went to their pre-qual site and I had 2 offers, 1 for Slate and the other for Freedom (besides CK said the odds were very good LOL). I had 2 collections and a bunch of lates (38 lol) at the time...bit the bullet and applied for the Freedom was suprisingly approved for 3K instantly 
. Tried to go for the Discover It 2 days later and they denied me, tried to recon and of course they denied me again 
. BOA recently updated one of my lates from 120 late to CO and that was the only reason I was declined. They told me to re-apply once I dispute it and I am working on it.

Garsue, what cards/limits did you have at the time when you applied for the Chase Freedom and you got the 3k?
Congrats on the journey to success! Wish you luck on those Chase cards. I'm striving for one myself. I just got denied for the freedom (super surprised) but she explained that I have1 collection item and my payment history from 2014 was **bleep**. But I'm on my way to fix it.
