Open collection reporting every month - can they do this?

Asset Acceptance is reporting a key derogotory for, what I'm assuming is, a missed payment each month. This account was a CO from a Citibank card in 2008, so it's been CO'd for over 4 years. My updates on my credit monitoring services are telling me a missed payment has posted to my credit report every month, and TU is showing the account as an "open" collection. Are they allowed to do this?

Let me guess, they have themselves listed as a Factoring Agent.  No, they can't kds "key derrogatories" to your account.  They can put collection accounts, but that's it.  It's a method they try to get around listing themselves as JDBs.

Contact the BBB and your State Attorney General.  Some have had success with that on here.
