Opinions, Best approach to Beneficial Household Financial

I need some opinions on the best way to handle Beneficial.. Here is what it looks like

120 Day lates (07-2011,06-2011,02-2010,01-2010,12-2009,11-2009,10-2009)

  90 Day lates (05-2011,09-2009,08-2009)

  60 Day lates (04-2011,03-2011,01-2011,07-2009,06-2009)

  30 Day lates (02-2011,12-2010,05-2009,04-2009)

07-2011 I settled the account for less than balance. I see that most people aren't having any luck with GWing beneficial so should I offer to pay the difference of the settlement for a deletion? A PFD after the fact type of thing. It says on my credit report that estimated month and year that this item will be removed:10/2013.

Does anyone have any addresses they used that was successful? This is the worst account I have by far.

Re: Opinions, Best approach to Beneficial Household Financial

I had no idea Beneficial still existed.  I still remember their little jingle from the early 80s.

Re: Opinions, Best approach to Beneficial Household Financial

When the debt was settled, you no longer have any debt upon which to base a pay for deletion offer.  They have no basis for accepting money other than as a corporate donation.

Some have advised to make an offer to pay, but that is, in my opinion, tantamount to anyone offering a furnisher money that the furnisher is not entitled to collect as a payoff for deleting accurate information.

You can try it, but personally I would not.

So does anyone has a good approach? I'm going to try to GW but I don't have a lot of hope in that. I wonder if I should just leave it alone and let it age of. It's only 8 months away.
