PAST NOW COMES INTO PRESENT

DH had a charge off back in 05 from HSBC - I believe both of hs accts with them were paid off, but now WWR has been calling and now sent a letter, even tho no communication has happened, indicates we owe Atlantic Credit.  Not in position to pay them, and DOFD  of 30 vdays was 11-05, but CO was in 06.  Illinois SOL is 5 years.  What date would actually apply?  What other options do I have.  DH will not be happy to find out this may be owed.

Help!

Re: PAST NOW COMES INTO PRESENT

Is HSBC reporting?  If so what is the drop date that they are reporting?

If DOFD was in 2005 then that sets CRTP. Closed or CO date doesn't matter.

If payment was made after CO then it might have reset SOL.

Re: PAST NOW COMES INTO PRESENT

Last knowledge, prior to the calls and this notice, only HSBC was reporting.  I'm assuming this Atlantic is an internal CA for them?  If they validated, it should show HSBC or original debt?  Having all of the JDB involved can't reset anything as long as I'm not negotiating or paying them correct?  I'm going to have to write them within 30 days with something aren't I?

I don't know if I can hold them off, especially with mail coming to the house.
