PFD Capital One Anyone?

I have an outstanding balance with CapOne credit card for $1750

This is a very old account and was closed back in 2005, 2 of the 3 bureaus show the account can be deleted  on the first quarter of 2012 which is awesome but I need my credit points before that for sure.

So Im fixing to send CapOne a PFD letter but was wondering if it would be wise to shoot low on the settlement amount, I don't know maybe $700 or so..

Has anyone here had a similar situation with CapOne, did they go for it?

Re: PFD Capital One Anyone?

Capital One is another difficult company to PFD or GW. By the time you would be able to get them to agree to a PFD, the 7 year mark will pass and they will be deleted from your credit report. Also, 99.9% of the time they won't "settle" for a PFD. PFD usually requires you to pay the debt in full, including any collection fees.
