I sent a PFD letter to Collection Bureau of Little Falls Inc. I offered 50%. The letter was a standard PFD with all the legal jargon. They replied, giving me all the details of the debt and offering to remove it from my credit report for the full amount owed.
Two questions.
1) Should I counteroffer? Maybe send a check for a partial payment with "pay for delete" written on the check as suggested by other posters.
2) Is the wording sufficient for a PFD agreement? They ignored my wording and offered to "agree to submit an electronic deletion request to Equifa, Experian and Trans Union within 15 days of receipt of $xx, not $xx as you have offered." That says notjing about not discussing the debt in future. It is signed by a named person, their collections manager. I just don't feel comfortable not having a more detailed agreement.
