Waiting for the Sol to expire prevents the retaliation of successful adverse (legal) action against you. Now this is only if you use sol as a defense. Keep in mind not every situation is the same for instance if the debt is a relative small amount under a grand per say and relatively new where it hasn't gained too much interest it would be better to pfd right away anyway with little to no concern for Sol.
