Can you recall where you read this? If you can I will go there and make a correction to possible incorrect information.
Even though the CRTP runs from 7-7.5 years depending on the negative collection efforts can continue forever. Could this be what you read?
From a BK years ago to:
EX - 3/11 pulled by lender- 835, EQ - 2/11-816, TU - 2/11-782
"Some people spend an entire lifetime wondering if they've made a difference. The Marines don't have that problem".
Let me go see.
MV - I just bumped it up. Maybe I was just confused on what I read, but I don't think my question was answered = the OP's was not reporting but they were still going after him.

You're talking about this thread correct? http://ficoforums.myfico.com/t5/Rebuilding-Your-Credit/Can-CA-sell-debt-after-receiving-a-C-amp-D-le...
Unfortunately that's perfectly legal. Even after the CRTP has expired and a negative item can no longer be reported the debt still remains and can be attempted to be collected theoretically forever.

It can't report after 7.5 years but if your SOL is 10 years there is still legal recourse (ie judgements) that can be applied. After the 10 year SOL is up they can still come after you for the amount but have no legal means. A debt is always a debt until satisfied, but after the sol is up you can tell them to FOAD. Goodluck!
