Is it appropriate to do a PFD in person? The account in question is closer to me than the post office is. I have the letter typed and ready to go.
Hmmm, I dunno, I've never heard of someone doing that. Are you super charming and persuasive? Have a really cute baby or toddler you can bring with you? Or, conversely, are you apt to get upset if they are a bit rude or decline your request?
Try it! I'd love to know if it would work. But I agree, if you're apt to have a meltdown, probably best in writing. Also agree with the baby, if you dont have have, borrow one.

I should ask, is this the OC or the CA? An OC often will not be setup for collection negotiations at their office, because it's obviously not their main business. In that case it probably wouldn't be beneficial to try it. If it's a CA, that's a different story.

I would try it, let us know.
Absolutely, provided you restrain from saying anything contrary to your interests, such as admitting the debt.
PFD is a negotiation. Personal contact is a great negotiation tool, permitting a quicker meeting of the minds, for better or worse.
