PFD letters

Who are PFD letters sent to? Collection agencies or original creditors? If I have one that's two years old how bad is it hurting my score?

Re: PFD letters

If the OC still owns the debt, you can send your offer to either the OC or their debt collector.

The primary issue is that a party can only agree to delete information that they have reported.  If both have reported, decide which reporting you are seeking to have deleted.

Usually, the collection is considered the more serious reporting, and thus the PFD would be sent to the debt collector.

The OC may be more receptive to accepting payment, and might then ask the debt collector to delete their separate reporting, but they cannot compel deletion.

You take your chances.
