PFD or DV first?

Long story short.  Made a bunch of financial mistakes when I was younger and now trying to rebuild/repair my credit.  The advice I’ve found in this forum has helped a lot.  Got a secured BoA 6 months ago and just got approved for CapOne secured a few days ago.  Caught up with Sallie Mae student loans and current for about a year now.  Feels like I am on the right track.

There’s one baddie I need some advice on how to proceed.  It is with Capital One and Portfolio Recovery.  Below is what EXP and TU are reporting:

Any advice is greatly appreciated.  Should I DV? or just go ahead and try PFD?

Re: PFD question

this is past SOL. So i dont need to DV right?

If the CA agrees to PFD will both entries get deleted? (CapOne and Portfolio Recovery)

thanks in advance!

If you're beyond the 30 day window for their dunning/initial contact, they don't even have to reply to your DV. If it was timely, they would legally have to stop all collection efforts until verified. If you're 200% confident you're past SOL (which only a Judge can officially decree..and yes they can still sue you/drag you to court even though you think you're safe), then I'd begin PFD offers, the older, the lower they'll go, if they play ball at all.

Re: PFD question

Thanks for the input.

If they play ball and agree to a PFD, would the CA delete both entries?

The reason i ask is to decide if i want to take this on or focus on to the next baddie.

Re: PFD question

Don't take their word for it. Try and get it in writing.
