Hi all so I know we cant really talk about HIPPA here but I have a very general question that I hope someone can answer so that I dont end up doing the wrong thing. I have a medical debt that is still in SOL. The OC (a hospital) said that they already sent it to collections and I CAN NOT pay them (the hospital). The amount is for $500, I received a settlement letter from NCO for a little over half and that is what I really can afford to pay now ( I am a broke college student). So should I send NCO a PFD letter for the amount asked in the settlement letter? or should I do HIPPA? I am not to familiar with HIPPA but I can find out more info if that is the way I should go. I really would like to have this taken care of so that it never comes back to haunt me again.
Someone.....Anyone......I have the PFD already written ready to go, just need some advice if thats the way to go
do not waste your time, ink or postage with a pfd. find the hipaa process online and follow it.
Even if the OC (hospital) said that they will NOT take payment?
