PIF a cc that was settled?

My husband has a FP CC that was CO, we settled in Feb and it is still reporting as a negative incicator on his report.. it says $0 paid settled in full, but is still under the bad/negative category. Would paying the $96 difference change the negative status? Would they have to report paid in full, instead of settled if we pay it?

Re: PIF a cc that was settled?

Paying a CO does not change the fact that it was a CO in the first place.  As long as the TL states paid, settled, paid after charge off, etc, it is reporting correctly.

It will always be a negative account even if you could pay the additional $96 which you can't because it is considered paid with the settlement.
