PRA

So PRA has incorrect information on my report and moved from an open account to closed account with CRAs because they can validate info. How should I proceed with CRAs to get accounts removed?

Re: PRA

You sent a DV request, for which they have not yet sent validation, and they have subsequently updated the collection to closed?

If that is the scenario, then you are in limbo.

There is no requriment for a debt collector to send validation within any period of time.

If the DV request was timely, its effect is to impose a cease collection bar, not requiire validation.  They can choose to simply cease collection activities until such time as they choose to first send validation.

While there is no requirment to, and debt collectors rarely do, update their collection to show that it is closed to further collection activities while a cease collection bar is in effect, such an update to closed does not impose any additional requirment upon them and is not an admission that they cannot validate.  Not having sent validation is not the same as an admission that they cannot validate.

If your DV was timely, they remain under a cease collection bar and thus collection remains in limbo.

To get the account removed, the standard procedure is to make them a pay for deletion offer.  However, they are not known for acceptance f PFDs.
